The programmes help employees better understand and act on the climate crisis
Spotted: Many people would like to do more to help the environment, but don’t know where to start, and many companies find themselves in the same position. Although many businesses have made net-zero commitments, there is often a critical gap in knowledge and action. Working to fill this gap is startup AimHi Earth.
AimHi provides live, online climate training and education that’s accessible, engaging, and curated for individual organisations. The programmes upskill workers at all levels so they can incorporate sustainability into their decision-making and are empowered to take action that puts the environment first.
The startup works with multinational corporations and focuses on providing training that can be scaled to any size. As well as training programmes that are curated for a company’s specific needs, AimHi also provides a follow-up that measures mindset and behavioural change in the workforce, helping companies link this information to ESG goals and improvements in ROI.
AimHi practices what it preaches. It is one of the very few companies in the world to give nature a seat at the table – one member of the board has been appointed to represent nature, to ensure that the company stays true to its mission. This year, AimHi secured £1 million (around €1.2 million) in funding from backers including The Climate Planet Foundation. The company intends to use the funds to expand its operations and accelerate its mission to create “100 million nature-first employees”.
Other innovations aiming to educate people on climate action include a platform that makes climate law easier to understand and a student-led initiative for clean-water solutions in Indonesia.
